The sticky, humid weather in DC may make you sweat the second you leave your nicely air conditioned apartment and turn your hair into a frizzy disaster, but at the same time…it gives you a great excuse to experiment with some refreshing smoothies!
Lauren Frahn, a member of LABRADA Nutrition’s LEAN BODY FOR HER team with Jamie Eason Middleton contacted me a few months ago to see if I would try Jamie’s protein powder and implement it into some clean and natural recipes. Between the Lean Body For Her Page and social media outlets, they have over 1.5 million followers along with 82k current subscribers to the weekly “Lean Body For Her” newsletter. The Lean Body products are made with all natural ingredients and I am really enjoying experimenting with both the vanilla whey protein as well as the chocolate whey protein.
My first experiment with the vanilla whey protein was a simple smoothie as a post workout drink after a long day at my new and unbelievable summer fellowship at Ketchum. It is definitely hard to find time to workout during the week when I leave the house at 7:45 am and get home around 6:00 pm. So, working out every other day during the week is what I have implemented into my schedule. After very quick 20-30 minutes workout on Tuesdays and Thursdays due to my work schedule, I really enjoy refueling with a delicious smoothie. Now, my smoothies do not come close to the mouth-watering taste of my mother’s delicious desserts at home, but hey, they are pretty refreshing and healthy!
